Soup Kitchen

The Lord’s Diner serves an evening meal 365 days a year. A small paid staff, assisted by more than 6,000 volunteers representing many faiths and denominations, prepare and serve a hot nutritious meal in a spirit of compassion, respect, and loving service. The Lord’s Diner is currently serving an average of 2,500 meals nightly at two dining facilities (one in downtown Wichita and one in south Wichita) and via two food trucks (one in northwest Wichita and one in southeast Wichita), to any guest who needs a nutritious meal, 60 percent of which are families.

Food Pantry/Clothing/Shelter

Each month Ascension supports the local United Methodist Open Door Ministry by collecting food items. This ministry provides nutritionally balanced emergency food assistance and  is the largest community-wide, food-box program in the area.

Items are collected in the yellow bin outside the Tyler Campus church office. To see what items are being collected see the Church News Emails and the Weekly Bulletin.
